The first thing you do when you realize water is getting on your laptop is to stop the spill, that way the amount of water getting in the computer is reduced. You do this either by raising a cup that may have fallen on to it, or by physically removing the laptop such that the spillage stops. Moving the laptop though is determined by how the gadget reacts to the spillage. If it explodes or sparks, you may want to get some gloves first or just run for help.
Cut off power supply
Water and electricity are a very bad mix. Most laptops run on battery, which are charged with electricity. Next thing you do after you stop the spill is cut out the power supply to the laptop, that way you reduce chances of being electrocuted. Again, this depends on how much water has been spilled and what parts it made contact with. If it just a few droplets, you may not need to go that far. But if the spill is a lot, and your laptop is wet, You should turn it off, unplug the network cable from the wall, disconnect the power cable from the laptop. Do not even bother with shutting it down properly, just go ahead and press that power button until your machine shuts down. Make sure your hands are dry too.
Turn the laptop over and remove the battery.
Once the laptop is disconnected, turn the laptop upside down and remove the battery. Turning the laptop ensures that the liquid will stop seeping deeper into the laptop and it will also help in draining the liquid off of your laptop. Take out the battery too and check to see how much water it has come in contact with.
Clean the spilled liquid
If the spill is small, using a lint-free paper towel or cloth, clean the laptop surface, but if you feel the spill must have seeped into areas beneath the surface, you can dismantle some parts like the keyboard and clean it thoroughly.
Replace the battery and observe
Once you are sure you are done with all the cleaning, and you are sure the laptop is absolutely dry, replace the battery and check to see if it starts up properly. If it works properly, then you are in luck, however, if there are some issues and even the keyboard does not work, try plugging in a USB keyboard, this may allow you to retrieve any data that hasn’t been backed up before you take it in for repairs.

Microsoft to acquire LinkedIn for $26b
Microsoft is set to acquire LinkedIn , the social network for professionals, for $26.2 billion in an all-cash transaction.
The company said that LinkedIn will continue to operate as usual. Jeff Weiner will remain CEO of LinkedIn, reporting to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2016.
Microsoft has acquired a number of businesses since Satya Nadella took up the role of CEO at the company, but this is the first major deal he’s signed in this position.
It’s a smart move for the company, as it strives to solidify its place in the market as the go-to vendor for productivity tools and services. In addition to bringing numerous new capabilities to its Office 365 cloud-based software suite, it acquired calendar app
Sunrise and to-do list tool Wunderlist in recent times.
LinkedIn CEO Jeff Weiner said:
Just as we have changed the way the world connects to opportunity, this relationship with Microsoft, and the combination of their cloud and LinkedIn’s network, now gives us a chance to also change the way the world works.

It’ll be be interesting to see if Microsoft begins integrating LinkedIn’s social networking and job listing and search capabilities into its software and online services.

Facebook.com gets in trouble with Brazilian court over WhatsApp controversy

just can’t seem to catch a break in Brazil. The Facebook-owned
messaging service made headlines in the country twice already this year.
Now, a new court ruling has ordered that 19.5 million reais ($6.07 million) in Facebook funds be frozen after the social media giant has repeatedly failed to cooperate with Brazilian federal police in a drug-related case, Reuters reports.
The police said the Facebook subsidiary has declined to turn over messages sent and received via WhatsApp by members implicated in an international cocaine smuggling investigation dating back to January.
Without this information, proving the criminal involvement of the individuals captured in recent raids might be difficult or even impossible.
The amount of funds frozen equals the sum of WhatsApp’s accumulated fines for non-compliance in the case.
Since the messaging service has no bank accounts in Brazil, the ruling applies to its parent company, Facebook.
So far Brazilian authorities have not resorted to provisions of the country’s internet law that allows courts to block access to online services in special cases of non-compliance.
Previously WhatsApp was blocked in Brazil on two separate occasions over the last year –
once for 12 hours and on another instance for 24 . Only the latter shutdown was related to the drug investigation in question.

AR was limited to the brief moments of “how cool that concept looks” keeping in mind how Google Glass was pegged by Google. With time, AR grew to “How cool the technology and experience is” with the execution of the concept by Microsoft with Hololens.
The technology works on existing hardware in addition to previous generation smartphones. You don’t need to spend $600 to $800 to buy an Oculus Rift or HTC Vive in addition to a VR compatible system. Many companies like Asus and Alienware have also come out with VR capable devices that require the user to carry the system in a backpack while costing an easy $1,000 just to experience virtual reality. In the smartphone market, experiencing VR doesn’t sound like an expensive affair but you need to invest in a decent virtual reality headsets which start from Rs 2,500, which again are not impressive. Another factor is the lack of quality of the experience unless your smartphone is equipped with a 2K display.
